Football

Football refers to a team sport that involves two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, competing to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team's goal. While the term "football" can refer to various types of football depending on the region (such as association football, American football, and Canadian football), it is most commonly associated with soccer. In soccer, the game is played primarily with the feet, and players are prohibited from using their hands to touch the ball, except for the goalkeeper, who can use their hands within the penalty area. The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Football is the world's most popular sport, played and watched by millions globally, and features prominent international competitions such as the FIFA World Cup and continental championships. The objective is to score more goals than the opponent within a set time limit, typically 90 minutes, divided into two halves. Football emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, and serves as a significant cultural phenomenon in many countries.
