CVEs

CVEs, or Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, refer to a standardized method for identifying and cataloging publicly known cybersecurity vulnerabilities in software and systems. Each CVE entry contains a unique identifier (CVE ID), a description of the vulnerability, and references to additional information such as updates and fixes. The CVE system provides a foundation for the responsible sharing of information about security vulnerabilities across organizations, enabling security researchers, developers, and system administrators to communicate more effectively about risks. By using CVE identifiers, individuals and organizations can quickly reference specific vulnerabilities, assess their exposure, and prioritize remediation efforts. The CVE list is maintained by the MITRE Corporation and is used globally to enhance security practices and promote awareness of vulnerabilities.
